Overview
We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity with a well-established multi-specialty group in western TN. The group, which has a strong neurosurgical focus, is looking for an experienced Interventional Physiatrist to take on a leadership role in managing pain for their patients.
This position is split evenly between clinic time and OR time, with a primary focus on interventional pain management, including stimulator trials. The ideal candidate will have completed a fellowship in pain management or sports medicine, or have extensive experience managing pain in their practice. This breadth of expertise will be key to your success in the role. Medication management will not be a big focus, but rather acute interventions.
Here are the key details:
- Work Structure: 50% clinic time, 50% OR time, focusing on interventional pain management for neurological conditions.
- Patient Focus: You’ll handle both acute and chronic pain, including nociceptive and neuropathic pain, resulting from cancer, injury, illness, surgery, and other causes.
- Collaborative Team: This is a team-based approach, where you’ll collaborate with other specialists to ensure optimal patient care.
- Compensation: The compensation package is highly competitive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review medical records and radiology tests, perform comprehensive exams, and work with other specialists to manage pain.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks, as well as use spinal cord stimulators in treatment.
- Prescribe and monitor treatments including medications, therapy, and interventional techniques.
- Participate in research, and support the development of junior medical officers and staff.
